Wage negotiations which began last year between Air Namibia and the Namibia Transport and Allied Workers Union (Natau) reached a deadlock yesterday.

Natau deputy general secretary, Likius Vilho said in a statement yesterday that Natau “hereby wishes to inform all its members and the general public at large about the possible industrial action by its members at Air Namibia ….”.

Should the strike go ahead, hundreds of Air Namibia employees will be downing tools.

The start date of the strike will be given in advance to Air Namibia, who will have 48 hours to inform the public and make the necessary arrangements.
