Taking a break at the Camel Inn Restaurant and Bar in Otavi is by no means all you’ll get from a visit to the Fourways stopover. The intersection leading to Tsumeb and Grootfontein hosts a refuelling station, car wash, biltong shop and butchery, takeaway corner, chicken-and-chips shop, pizzeria, fresh vegetable market, and even a small nursery.

There’s also a place for you to rest your head, and there are braai facilities for truckers. Camel Inn Restaurant is open seven days a week, with staff who can assist you in all the main languages (even Portuguese). So take a break at Fourways, if it’s late morning, to fill your stomach with the Hungry Camel – a late breakfast consisting of steak, a Russian sausage, eggs, beans, chips, chicken wings, fried tomato, bacon and toast – or if it’s after dark, to soak in the lively atmosphere.

You’ll find the Camel Inn Restaurant and Bar off the main road leading to the north-east.
