Deep in the Hoarusib Valley in the Kunene Region is a camp of a different calibre.

Leylandsdrift is an exclusive tented facility that can be accessed only by aircraft. Leylandsdrift forms part of the Skeleton Coast Safari (SCS) portfolio.

Situated on a mountaintop with the Hoarusib River flowing below, life here goes by at a relaxed pace, allowing you to take in the pristine beauty of the natural environment.

As it is located in the Purros vicinity, you might even spot a cluster of the nomadic Himba wandering by. Comments SCS manager Elizabeth Mwilima, “It’s the scenery, the mountains and the riverbed, combined with the prospect of seeing the desert-adapted elephants, that make a visit to Leylandsdrift a unique and unforgettable experience.”

The other two camps owned by Skeleton Coast Safaris are Camp Kuidas and Camp Kunene, both of which are currently being renovated.  www.skeletoncoastsafaris.com
