Don’t miss out on two talks about the recently proclaimed UNESCO world heritage site – The Namib Sand Sea. 

Tonight, Dr Mary Seely, who was instrumental in the process of getting the Sand Sea proclaimed, will give a talk at the Namibian Environment & Wildlife Society (NEWS) venue. The talk will centre around the process and results of assembling the nomination dossier which led to the proclamation. 

The talk will begin at 19h00 on 30th July 2013. 

  • VENUE: Rooms of the Namibia Scientific Society,
  • 110 Robert Mugabe Ave, opposite the National Theatre in Windhoek.

The next talk to be held at the NEWS venue will be by Eugene Marais of the National Museum of Namibia. Eugene will discuss how the World Heritage inscription works, the significance of the Namib in terms of that process, potential future proposals for World Heritage Sites in Namibia and how the public could be involved in the process.

This talk will take place on  Tuesday, 13 August 2013 at 19h00 at the rooms of the Namibia Scientific Society at 110 Robert Mugabe Avenue.
