August 21, 2013In preparation for the hosting of the much anticipated 2013 Adventure Travel World Summit (ATWS) Team Destination Namibia, is planning an awareness and clean-up campaign in Windhoek.
The event wil take place on 7 September and kick-off at 09h00. So far, around 50 school kids, staff from NTB and MET as well as the City of Windhoek staff will collaborate in a “clean and inform” campaign, enlightening those participating about the ATWS event in October.
The campaign will start at parliament gardens and continue down Sam Nujoma Avenue down to Mandume Ndemufayo and across to the train station for about an hour.
From there the procession will proceed to Evelyn Street in Katutura.
At about 12h30 the clean up campaign will stop at the corner of Danela Street and Evelyn Street – and a short broadcast on Radio Energy will take place on site.
For those who are keen to lie back and enjoy the rest of the day with fellow clean up campaigners, can then join Team Destination Namibia on the shores of Goreangab Dam, at Penduka for a “bring and braai”.
Team Destination Namibia is spearheading the organisation of the ATWS summit and consists of representatives from the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, the private sector and the community.
