For the past week Namibians have had to accept the fact that the first moderate cold fronts have made their way across the country.
This morning Keetmanshoop residents had to brave a chilly 5 degrees Celsius already.
Namibia weather forecaster Simon Dirkse confirmed today that while the days will continue to be warm for the next week, chilly mornings and evenings can be expected, mostly in the southern and central parts of Namibia.
“Next week it will be a bit chilly in the mornings, but the day will be hot,” he confirmed.
Dirkse said that winter has officially begun and the first cold fronts were felt already. Cold fronts will bring with them cold temperatures, a bit of rain (in the far south) and strong winds. Especially the Hardap and Karas regions will force residents to unpack their warm clothing just about now.
For the moment, Namibians can expect the cold temperatures of the last few days to recover slightly, until the next cold front hits. Which will be soon.
