Cost: Free
Contact: +264 61 225700 or pr@nads.org.na
Directed: Maren Ade
A young couple in their early 30s lives in the cosy togetherness of a holiday marked by honesty: the idealistic (but unsuccessful) architect Chris (Lars Eidinger) and the pragmatic (and tomboyish) PR consultant Gitti (Birgit Minichmayr) have an intense relationship that constantly alternates between all-out passion, childish fun and great earnestness. Both test one another as if they were teenagers. The conflict between them boils up when confronted with another couple, Hans, also an architect (but successful), and Sana, a fashion designer (who is also fashionable). These two appear as if they had a monopoly on the sunny side of life. What’s more, they understand how to hide their conventional male and female roles behind a modern facade. While Chris begins to orient himself on the others and tries to show his headstrong girlfriend where her limits are, Gitti feels betrayed. Her attempt to adapt to his new ideal develops from a new game of role-playing into a silent battle against herself.

Cost: Free
Contact: +264 61 225700 or pr@nads.org.na
Directed by Jan Schütte
Bert Brecht has spent the summer in his country house near Buckow surrounded by women, but now life appears to call him back to Berlin. In actual fact, however, it is death and not the theatre that awaits the famous poet. His daughter Barbara burns her father’s stinking cap in the park as if seeking to isolate herself from the paraphernalia of the past. Brecht’s grumpy search for the old cap runs through the story like a running gag – and at the same time shows how difficult it has become for the ailing old poet to concentrate on essentials.
Language: German with English subtitles.
