August 23, 2013The Namibian Tourism Board (NTB) this week launched the “Go Big Namibia” online marketing campaign, a social media bonanza aimed at positioning Namibia as a premier adventure tourism destination in Africa and to generate buzz about Namibia ahead of the Adventure Travel World Summit 2013 (ATWS) to be held in October 2013.
Live blogging is one of the key components of the Go Big Namibia campaign. The NTB has put together a team of four travel writers from Namibia, South Africa, the United States and Germany, who will travel throughout the country experiencing unique Namibian adventures and dotting it down in their social media notebooks.
“We have invited four travel bloggers from our key markets on an epic tour around Namibia. They will be joined by music sensation Ees. Check out the kick off blog here and feel free to share it!” NTB spokesperson for the campaign, Rebekka Hidulika, explained.
Together the five bloggers will write blog posts, instagram, tweet and post highlights on NTB’s Facebook – ensuring a live, day to day, sharing of adventure in Namibia.
The coverage will highlight Namibia’s diverse adventure experiences, including wildlife, hiking trails, extreme sports, landscapes, cultural diversity and the warm, welcoming people of Namibia.
NTB will track their journey on the various social media platforms, and is encouring trad partners in all markets to “assist us to spred the content generated”. In order to facilitate this, NTB has designed various social media tools, including a Facebook application and weekly content kits.
“Everyone, living in Namibia or living elsewhere in the world, is encouraged to follow the thrills and spills of the five travellers”. In addition, daily prizes are up for grab via NTB’s Facebook page for the duration of the campaign.
The campaign will run from the 23rd of August until the 2nd of September.
