Consisting of three young musicians who go by the names of Pedro, Key and Hasho, Maszanga – meaning an impact as in something massive – has become one of Namibia’s top music groups.
Pedro, originally from Walvis Bay, lives in Swakopmund. He is 22 years old and specialises in IT, but does music as a profession. Key is from Otjiwarongo and currently lives in Windhoek, working at Eros Airport as a firefighter. Hasho is also from Otjiwarongo, and lives in Swakopmund, where he works as a crime investigator for the Namibian Police.
The sensational three have been performing for seven years, taking the Namibian music industry by storm with their energetic live performances. Their fusion music with its traditional Namibian flavour and own unique touch has been recorded in the 777 Production Studio.
On stage, they are explosive with their unique and entertaining dance moves. Their first single – Nale – can be heard on local radio stations and is currently topping the charts. They are currently producing their own music album, which has 13 tracks and features different Namibian languages.
They work with Namibian artists and groups 4×4, Oupabians, Tay Shaun, Hishishi Papa, Tequila and the South African artist, Brickz.
Once you’ve heard them, you’ll go home dancing.
