The ITB (Internationale Tourismus-Börse), the world’s largest tourism trade fair is currently running in Berlin. The companies represented at the fair include hotels, tourism boards, tour operators, system providers, airlines and car rental companies.
About 180 countries attend the fair with 10 000 exhibitors. Despite its size and uniquely diverse offers, ITB Berlin features a clear, logical structure: along with the familiar geographic organization according to destinations, the hall layout is also arranged in segments which correspond to the most important tourism topics.
With its unique diversity, ITB Berlin covers the entire value-added chain of tourism offers. Orientation is provided by the geographical organization of the 180+ participating countries and regions.
Top-notch presentations on global trends and innovation make the convention a path-breaking event for the whole tourism industry. 200 trendsetting events will be held over 4 days and the program will focus on today’s burning issues. 400 renowned top speakers will discuss innovative business models.
ITB Berlin is also a generator of inspiration for Corporate Social Responsibility. Ecological and social responsibility is an essential task for the future and a requirement for long-term success. ITB is committed to human rights, social justice, the fight against the sexual exploitation of women and children, and climate, environmental and animal protection.
Of course Namibia is also representing at this trade fair. The ITB 2015 Namibia stand features wonderful images of Namibia by late photographer Paul van Schalkwyk. This year the stand is dedicated to Paul for his tremendous passion and support of Namibia and the Namibian tourism industry.
Among the strategic Namibian partners for the 2015 ITB are Namibia Wildlife Resorts, Air Namibia, Namibia Tourism Board and Gondwana Collection.
