Five years ago the idea of launching a new hotel under the Gondwana Collection was born. Today The Delight is open and welcoming guests from far and wide. The Gondwana team felt that the traditional Gondwana tourist route wasn’t complete without and addition to Swakopmund, as this town is a firm tourist-favourite. The hotel opened its doors on 1 November 2015.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]In Swakopmund you have the best of both worlds. You can enjoy the pleasures of small town living and the solitude of the unspoiled Namib Desert right on your doorstep. The town provides ample activities and adventures such as deep-sea fishing, sky-diving, sand boarding and town tours of the historic German architecture. Be sure to ask them for their recommendations and assistance on activities in the area.
The new hotel is situated right in the centre of this historic town, within walking distance of the Mole. There are 44 brightly coloured double rooms, with contemporary furnishings to choose from and 10 spacious loft rooms are available for families to share. Delicious breakfasts are served, but dinner is unavailable – this is because the Gondwana team feels that visitors are spoiled for choice when it comes to dining in Swakopmund. They will gladly assist you with restaurant reservations.
This is the first time that Gondwana has established a hotel in an urban setting. They hope to bring a lodge feeling to the area – one that is light, friendly and easy.
This is the perfect spot for business -men and – women to overnight before heading out to their next destination.
