The Tourist Guides’ Association of Namibia welcomes a new Executive Committee following its Annual General Meeting held on 28 March, 2015. The new Executive Committee is comprised of Emiliano Benolich as Chairperson, Faustin Kupasula (co-opted) as Vice-Chairperson, Gudrun Middendorff as Treasurer, Kurt Schlenther as the outgoing Chairman, Edgar Naude, Danica Smith, Paulo de Oliveira, Rolf Heinrich (co-opted), Werner Schlierkamp, Tommie Britz, Rocco Talia and Ueraje Tjambiru (co-opted).
TAN welcomes all the tourist guides of Namibia to join the Association and is committed to representing, promoting, protecting and developing the Association and its members’ interests as well as promoting and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism among its members.
A special thank-you goes out to the members and special guests who attended TAN’s 21st Anniversary Celebration held the evening of the Annual General Meeting at the Gondwana Shebeen. The venue was sponsored by Gondwana and O&L Leisure and it was a night of good memories, awards and laughter.
FNB Namibia together with TAN represented the 1st ever “Tourist Guide of the Year Award” and Mr. Kurt Schlenther was the winner of this award along, with Mr. Emiliano Benolich coming in as a runner-up.

Also on the night Mr. Manfred Goldbeck (Gondwana Collection) and Mr. Bruce Hutchison (O&L Leisure) were awarded the first ever Tourist Guides Association of Namibia “Excellence in Tourism 2014” award.
